More Medical Care Choices: Ending Inpatient-Only Service List

This bill aims to expand patient choice in medical care settings. Starting January 1, 2024, hospitals will no longer be able to refuse to provide certain services on an outpatient basis, even if they were previously only available during a hospital stay. This means citizens may have more options for care outside of a hospital, potentially impacting healthcare costs and convenience.
Key points
As of January 1, 2024, the list of medical services that could only be provided in a hospital will be eliminated.
Patients will have greater freedom to choose between inpatient and outpatient care, potentially reducing costs and wait times.
