Mental Health Support for Soldiers: Apps and Hotlines on Smart Devices

A new act introduces a pilot program to pre-install mental health support applications and emergency hotline numbers on smart devices issued to military members. This aims to facilitate access to help during difficult times and enhance mental resilience, especially when direct clinical support is unavailable.
Key points
Pre-installation of the "Virtual Hope Box" application on military-issued smart devices to help soldiers cope with difficult emotions.
Pre-programming of the National Suicide Hotline and Veterans Crisis Line numbers into contacts on military-issued devices.
Implementation of training on how to use these resources as part of general suicide awareness and prevention programs within the military.
The pilot program will run for two years to evaluate the effectiveness of these solutions.
