Additional Leave for Bone Marrow or Stem Cell Donation
This Act amends the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) to grant eligible employees an additional 40 hours of leave over a 12-month period specifically for activities related to bone marrow or blood stem cell donation. This new leave is separate from standard FMLA leave entitlements. Employees can use this time for pre-donation activities, the donation itself, and post-donation activities.
