Training Income Exemption: No SNAP Benefit Reduction for Program Participants.

This bill aims to make it easier for individuals receiving food assistance (SNAP) to participate in training and educational programs. It ensures that money received for vocational training will not be counted as income, meaning it won't negatively affect the amount of food benefits received. This allows beneficiaries to develop skills without fear of losing support.
Key points
Income from workforce training and employment programs will no longer reduce Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
Participants in vocational rehabilitation and refugee employment programs will also benefit, as their earnings from these sources will not impact SNAP benefits.
The change encourages skill development and new job training without the risk of losing food assistance.
