New Identification Rules for Off-Campus Medical Facilities

New regulations require medical facilities operating off-campus from a main hospital to have their own unique identification number. This aims to better track medical services and ensure compliance, potentially affecting how healthcare services are billed to patients.
Key points
Each off-campus outpatient department must obtain and use a unique health identifier separate from the main provider for billing purposes.
Providers must submit an attestation to the government confirming that their off-campus departments comply with specific regulatory requirements.
These changes will take effect from January 1, 2026, allowing time for medical facilities to adapt to the new requirements.
