Ending Speculative Oil and Gas Leasing on Public Lands

This act aims to stop the leasing of federal lands for oil and gas development when there's little to no potential for finding these resources. This will prevent taxpayer money from being wasted on managing such leases and allow these lands to be better used for recreation, conservation, or other purposes. Citizens will have more say in land decisions through mandatory public consultations.
Key points
Prohibits leasing federal lands for oil and gas if they have low or no potential for resource development.
Promotes better use of federal lands for recreation, conservation, and other important activities.
Increases transparency and public participation in land leasing decisions.
Saves taxpayer money by avoiding inefficient leases.
