LGBTQ+ Youth Mental Health Support: New Programs and Conversion Therapy Ban.

This act aims to improve access to mental health services for LGBTQ+ youth and their families. It establishes grant programs for psychological support, caregiver training, and school bullying prevention guidelines. Importantly, it prohibits the use of funds for so-called conversion therapy, which attempts to change sexual orientation or gender identity.
Key points
Access to Mental Health Support: LGBTQ+ youth and their families will gain better access to mental health resources and crisis interventions.
Conversion Therapy Ban: Funds cannot be used to finance or promote conversion therapy, which is considered harmful.
Training and Guidelines: Caregivers will benefit from training, and schools will receive guidelines for bullying prevention.
Research and Data: Data on the mental health of LGBTQ+ youth will be collected to help better plan support.
