Restroom Access for Truck Drivers and Port Operators

This new act aims to ensure truck drivers have access to restrooms at locations where they deliver or pick up goods. This is intended to improve working conditions and comfort for drivers who often struggle to find available restrooms during long hauls. The act also sets rules for restroom access for drayage truck operators.
Key points
Truck drivers will gain the right to use restrooms at delivery and pickup locations if they are available to customers or employees and do not pose a safety risk.
Port terminal operators will be required to provide a sufficient number of restrooms for drayage truck operators, including parking spaces.
The act does not require businesses to build new restrooms or make physical changes to existing ones unless necessary.
