Feral Swine Eradication Act: Program Expansion and New Rules

This act amends the existing feral swine eradication program, transitioning it from a pilot to a permanent program. This means that efforts to protect agriculture, the environment, and human health from damage caused by feral swine will continue and expand to larger areas. Monitoring of areas from which feral swine have been removed will also increase to prevent their return.
Key points
The feral swine eradication program becomes permanent, ensuring continuity of protective actions.
Areas covered by the program will now be called "eligible areas," broadening its scope.
A one-year monitoring requirement for areas after feral swine removal is introduced to prevent reoccurrence.
Program funding is extended until 2028, and financial contribution ratios have changed.
A report assessing program effectiveness and providing recommendations is required.
