This act aims to recognize the contributions of Southeast Asian communities who supported U.S. armed forces during the conflict. Additionally, it authorizes financial assistance for clearing landmines and unexploded ordnance in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, which is expected to enhance safety and enable economic development in these regions by reducing risks to civilian lives.
