Health Profession Grants: Preference for Business and Community Partnerships

The new "Making Opportunities Reachable for Everyone Act" (MORE Act) changes how grants for health profession opportunity programs are awarded. Starting October 1, 2023, applicants who partner with government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare employers, and labor unions will have a higher chance of receiving funding. This aims to better align programs with workforce and community needs.
Key points
Increased chances for health profession programs that partner with state and local government agencies and social service providers.
Preference for applicants collaborating with higher education institutions, apprenticeship programs, and local workforce development boards.
Additional consideration for programs that work with healthcare employers, industry partnerships, and labor unions.
Changes become effective on October 1, 2023.
