Maternal Support: Community Mentoring and Social Services

This new act establishes grant programs for organizations supporting mothers in communities. The goal is to improve maternal and child well-being, financial literacy, and access to social resources. These programs aim to help mothers in their daily lives by offering mentor support and access to necessary services.

Access to Mentors: Pregnant women or mothers caring for children under 6 can receive support from volunteer mentors.

Support for At-Risk Families: Priority will be given to low-income mothers, young mothers, those with a history of substance abuse, domestic violence victims, or mothers with children with developmental disabilities.
Access to Resources: Access to social services and other community resources will be facilitated.
Funding: $100 million annually is authorized for these programs from 2024 to 2026.
