Easier Federal Employment and Security Clearances for Cannabis Users.

This new law aims to limit the impact of past or present cannabis use on eligibility for federal employment and security clearances. Citizens previously denied jobs or clearances due to cannabis use can now request a review of their cases, potentially opening doors to federal careers.
Key points
Cannabis use will no longer automatically disqualify individuals from federal employment or security clearances.
Individuals denied federal employment or security clearances since January 1, 2008, due to cannabis use can request a review of their case.
Federal agencies must establish a review process and reconsider requests within 90 days.
If denied again, individuals can appeal to a special board, which may order a redetermination of their case.
