End Forced Arbitration for Servicemembers: Enhanced Legal Protections

This act aims to enhance legal protections for servicemembers and their families. It changes dispute resolution rules so that servicemembers are not forced into arbitration for issues covered by special provisions, unless they provide written consent after a dispute arises. This means greater freedom in choosing how to resolve legal problems.
Key points
Servicemembers will not be automatically sent to arbitration for contract disputes unless they give written consent after the dispute has already occurred.
Waivers of rights by servicemembers will only be valid if made after a specific dispute has arisen and is clearly identified in the waiver.
Servicemembers gain a clear right to pursue their claims in court, regardless of prior arbitration agreements.
