Right to Medicare: Ending Forced Shifts to Medicare Advantage

This legal act aims to ensure that seniors have the full freedom to choose between traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans. Employers will not be able to force employees or retirees to change their insurance plan, and any change will require their explicit consent. If someone does not respond to a change proposal, they will automatically remain in traditional Medicare, and the employer will have to continue covering the costs.
Key points
Citizens gain the right to independently choose between traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage, without employer coercion.
Employers must offer an opt-in option for shifting to Medicare Advantage; no response means staying in traditional Medicare.
The act protects seniors from unwanted changes to their health insurance, giving them control over their benefits.
