More Visas for Foreign US Government Employees and Families

This act aims to provide more visas for foreign US government employees who have served the country for at least 15 years. It seeks to facilitate their and their families' immigration to the United States, recognizing their long-term and exceptional service. While changes might affect the availability of other visa types, the priority is to support those who risked their lives for US security.
Key points
The act creates a special visa allocation for foreign US government employees and their families who have served at least 15 years.
Up to 3,500 such visas will be available in fiscal year 2024, and up to 3,000 annually thereafter.
To accommodate these visas, there may be a temporary reduction in the number of visas available through the Diversity Visa Program.
