Right-Of-Way Application Transparency and Accountability Act

This new law requires government agencies to quickly inform citizens and businesses about the status of their right-of-way applications for public lands. This makes the process of obtaining permits for infrastructure, like pipelines or power lines, more predictable and transparent, potentially speeding up project implementation and reducing bureaucracy.
Key points
Government agencies must notify applicants within 90 days if their right-of-way application is complete.
If an application is incomplete, agencies must clearly specify what information is needed to complete it.
The Act applies to right-of-way applications for lands managed by the Secretary of the Interior (public lands) and the Secretary of Agriculture (National Forest System lands).
