Payments for Air America Employees and Families for Service

The "Air America Act of 2023" aims to provide one-time financial payments to employees of Air America and affiliated companies who supported the U.S. government from 1950-1976, and their families. This is to honor their service and sacrifice, including high casualty rates and participation in rescue missions. Citizens meeting the criteria can apply for these benefits, potentially improving their financial situation.
Key points
One-time payments of $40,000 for eligible Air America employees or their survivors, with an additional $8,000 for each full year of service beyond five years.
Payments are for U.S. citizens who worked for Air America or affiliated companies between 1950-1976, or their widows/widowers, children, or dependents.
The total amount for awards will not exceed $60 million, and claims must be filed within 2 years of the effective date of the regulations.
The Act does not grant any other federal benefits, such as retirement or disability benefits, and payment determinations are final and not subject to judicial review.
