School Training: Recognizing and Preventing Child Human Trafficking

This act introduces training programs for students, teachers, and school personnel to help them recognize, prevent, and respond to signs of human trafficking and child exploitation. The goal is to increase awareness and protect young people from these threats, significantly impacting the safety of children in schools and communities.
Key points
Training programs on recognizing human trafficking and child exploitation will be implemented in elementary and secondary schools.
Training will target students, teachers, school nurses, counselors, principals, and other school staff.
The act authorizes $15 million annually for fiscal years 2024-2028 to fund these programs.
