AI-Generated Content Labeling: Enhancing Online Transparency
This Act aims to ensure that content created by artificial intelligence (AI), such as images, videos, audio, or text, is clearly labeled. This will help citizens easily distinguish between human-made and machine-generated content, increasing their awareness and safety in the digital world. Companies developing and distributing AI systems will be required to implement appropriate labeling and procedures to prevent their removal.
Key points
All AI-generated content (images, video, audio, text) must be clearly identified as such.
Labels must be permanent, difficult to remove, and include information about the tool and creation time.
Companies developing and licensing AI systems must implement procedures to prevent the removal of these disclosures.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) will enforce these rules, treating violations as unfair practices.
A working group will be established to develop technical standards and guidelines for online platforms to detect AI-generated content.
