Alaska Native Land Restoration: Ending Mandatory Conveyances to State

This act changes rules for land conveyed by Alaska Native Village Corporations. The main change is that these corporations will no longer be required to convey land in trust to the State for future municipal corporations. If land was already conveyed and no municipality was established, it can revert to the Village Corporation, giving them more control over their property and local development.
Key points
Alaska Native Village Corporations are no longer required to convey land to the State for future municipalities.
Land already conveyed for unestablished municipalities can revert to the Village Corporation.
The changes aim to restore land control to Alaska Native communities.
