Restrictions on Flag Display in Federal Offices

New rules limit which flags can be displayed in federal offices. Citizens should be aware that their tax money will not be used to purchase flags other than those representing the United States, states, territories, armed forces, or the POW-MIA flag. This aims to standardize symbolism in government buildings.
Key points
Federal offices can only display the U.S. flag, state/territory flags, government department/agency flags, armed forces flags, and the POW-MIA flag.
Federal funds are prohibited from being used to acquire or display other flags.
These rules apply starting from fiscal year 2024 and for all subsequent fiscal years.
