Protecting Access to Assisted Reproductive Technology and Fertility Treatment

This Act aims to ensure citizens' right to access assisted reproductive technologies, such as IVF, without undue limitations. It also protects the rights of healthcare providers to offer these services and insurance providers to cover them. The legislation establishes legal mechanisms for seeking redress if these rights are violated.
Key points
Guarantees the right to access assisted reproductive technology (e.g., IVF) and to continue ongoing treatments.
Ensures the right to decide on the use of reproductive genetic materials (e.g., gametes).
Allows patients and healthcare providers to sue state or local authorities that impose unreasonable restrictions.
Prevents states from enacting laws that unduly restrict access to fertility treatment, unless for safety and no less restrictive alternatives exist.
