Better Coordination of Agricultural Climate Research and Data for Farmers.

This law establishes new advisory structures and a support network to help farmers and rural communities adapt to climate change. The goal is to strategically align agricultural research (e.g., carbon sequestration, soil health) and ensure that the latest knowledge and technologies reach agricultural producers directly. Citizens will gain access to better data and training, intended to increase farm resilience against extreme weather events.
Key points
Establishment of the Agriculture Climate Scientific Research Advisory Committee to set national research priorities for soil health, greenhouse gas emissions, and climate-smart practices.
Creation of the Rural Climate Alliance Network (RCAN) to provide farmers with training, data, and technical assistance for climate adaptation and mitigation.
Improved technology transfer and communication mechanisms to help producers quickly implement new, science-backed climate risk management methods.
