Key points
Individuals in federal, state, and local prisons will be able to pre-apply or prepare applications for TWIC cards before their release.
The appeal and waiver process for individuals initially deemed ineligible for TWIC cards due to criminal history will be streamlined.
Increased access to TWIC cards is intended to improve employment prospects for former inmates, crucial for their reintegration and reducing recidivism.
