Made in the U.S.A. Tax Credit: Supporting Domestic Production
This new act introduces a tax credit for individuals purchasing selected products made in the USA. This aims to encourage citizens to support the domestic economy through their purchases, potentially impacting the availability and prices of local goods. The credit is designed to reduce tax burdens for consumers who choose American-made products.
Key points
You can receive a tax credit of up to $2,500 ($5,000 for married couples) for purchasing "Made in USA" products.
The credit covers 30% of the purchase price of eligible products, with a maximum product price of $500 ($1,000 for energy-efficient or climate resilience products).
Income limitations apply: Your annual income cannot exceed $125,000 ($250,000 for married couples), and capital gains net income cannot exceed $20,000 ($40,000 for married couples).
