New Rules for Recurring Political Contributions: Affirmative Consent Required

New rules aim to protect citizens from unknowingly making recurring political donations. You must now give clear, affirmative consent for any recurring contribution, and political organizations must provide receipts for each payment, including details of the next one, and make it easy to cancel. This increases your control over personal finances and promotes transparency in political funding.
Key points
Explicit consent is now required for recurring political contributions; passive actions like failing to uncheck a box will not count as consent.
Political organizations must provide a receipt for each recurring payment, clearly stating the date and amount of the next contribution.
You have the right to cancel any future recurring contributions at any time, and organizations must facilitate this immediately upon request.
