Support for High-Need Students: Postsecondary Success Programs

This act aims to increase the chances of high-need students (e.g., low-income, first-generation college students) to complete higher education. Colleges and universities can receive grants for programs supporting these students, which may include better advising, emergency financial aid, or career preparation. This will allow more individuals to pursue higher education and achieve better career prospects.
Key points
Colleges and universities will receive grants to create programs supporting high-need students to increase their participation, retention, and completion rates.
Programs may include comprehensive academic and career services, accelerated learning opportunities, emergency financial assistance, and career preparation efforts.
2% of funds will be reserved for grants to eligible Indian entities (Tribal Colleges and Universities) to support high-need students.
