Commemorative Coins for Women's WWII Home Front Contributions

This act authorizes the minting of special commemorative coins to honor the women who contributed to the Home Front during World War II, famously known as "Rosie the Riveter." Sales of these coins will include a surcharge that will fund the maintenance and repair of the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park, as well as educational and commemorative programs. Citizens will have the opportunity to purchase these coins, thereby supporting the preservation of an important part of U.S. history.
Key points
Three types of commemorative coins will be issued: $5 gold, $1 silver, and half-dollar clad, available for one year starting January 1, 2025.
A surcharge from coin sales will be directed to the Rosie the Riveter Trust to support the National Park Service in maintaining the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park and for educational programs.
The coins will be legal tender but are primarily intended for collection and commemoration, not daily circulation.
The initiative aims to honor the significant contributions, sacrifices, and perseverance of women during WWII, including their struggles against discrimination.
