Mandatory Disclosure of Chinese Ownership for Apps and Websites

New legislation requires mobile applications and internet websites that are wholly or partially owned by the Chinese Communist Party or non-state-owned Chinese entities to clearly disclose this fact to users in the U.S. This aims to increase citizens' awareness of the origin of the digital services they use. The Federal Trade Commission will enforce these provisions, and providing false information will be unlawful.
