Support for Emerging Artists: Grants for Career Development and Projects

The CREATE Art Act aims to support emerging artists through a grant program. It provides funds for recording, touring, video production, marketing, and living/working expenses during creative processes. This offers a chance for career development and project realization for artists meeting specific income and creative activity criteria.
Key points
Various grants are available: up to $2,000 for annual activities, up to $100,000 for projects, up to $35,000 for live performances, and up to $10,000 for living and working expenses during creative work.
Grants are for artists who have earned less than $50,000 net from their art in the past 5 years and less than $400,000 net in the past 20 years.
Funds must be used for goods and services received in the U.S., provided by U.S. citizens or entities owned/controlled by U.S. citizens.
The Act includes labor protections, requiring prevailing minimum compensation and safe working conditions for personnel involved in grant-funded projects.
A Development Committee for Emerging Artist Grant Program will be established to advise the Secretary of Labor on program development and grant application evaluation.
