Pay Raises for Enlisted Members of Uniformed Services

This bill proposes to increase the basic pay rates for certain enlisted members of the uniformed services. These changes aim to boost the income of lower-ranking military personnel, potentially improving their financial situation and daily lives. Furthermore, these raises will be in addition to the general pay increases already planned for the fiscal year 2024 budget and any future budget requests.
Key points
Increased basic pay for enlisted members (grades E-1 to E-6) across uniformed services.
Raises cover various ranks and years of service, for example, E-1 with over four months of service will receive $2,600.60, and E-4 with eight or more years of service will receive $3,260.30.
These changes are in addition to the 5.2-percent pay increase from the 2024 fiscal year budget and any future raises.
The bill has a potentially positive impact on the personal finances and quality of life for thousands of service members and their families.
