SHIELD Act: Stricter Penalties for Illegal Squatting by Non-Citizens.

This act introduces new rules for non-citizens who illegally occupy properties. Individuals convicted of or admitting to such acts may face inadmissibility to the United States or deportation. The aim is to protect property owners from unauthorized occupation of their homes.
Key points
Non-citizens convicted of or admitting to acts of trespass (squatting) will be deemed inadmissible to the U.S.
Non-citizens already in the U.S. who commit acts of trespass may be subject to deportation.
These provisions apply regardless of whether the offense is classified as a misdemeanor or felony under federal, state, tribal, or local law.
