Funding Mental Health Support for Trauma from Law Enforcement Violence.

This Act establishes two grant programs to provide free, comprehensive mental and behavioral health services to individuals, families, and students suffering trauma or grief due to violence involving law enforcement personnel. Funds are directed through community organizations and schools, prioritizing high-need areas, ensuring citizens have access to specialized support outside of police or child protective services structures.
Key points
Creation of the "Helping Families Heal Program" to fund community-based mental health services for individuals affected by witnessing or experiencing law enforcement violence.
Establishment of the "Healing for Students Program" to provide mental health support directly within schools for students and staff impacted by such traumatic events.
An Interagency Task Force (HHS, Education, Justice) will be created to coordinate aid and streamline funding access for local, grassroots organizations.
Priority for funding is given to communities with high rates of interaction with law enforcement or those under investigation for racial bias in the use of force.
