Ban on New Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms and High-Capacity Magazines.

This law bans the future manufacture, sale, and import of most gas-operated semi-automatic firearms and ammunition feeding devices holding more than 10 rounds. Citizens who lawfully own these items before the law takes effect can keep them, but future transfers are severely restricted. The law also establishes a process for voluntary government buy-back programs.
Key points
New sales and manufacturing of most gas-operated semi-automatic firearms and devices that increase the rate of fire are prohibited.
Magazines holding over 10 rounds (excluding .22 caliber) cannot be manufactured or sold; existing magazines can be kept but cannot be transferred.
Legally owned, grandfathered firearms can only be transferred to immediate family members, requiring a background check through a licensed dealer.
The government agency must create and maintain a public list of all prohibited firearms and approve all new semi-automatic firearm designs.
