Voter Protection: States Must Prove Ineligibility Before Removing Registrants.

This law strengthens voter protections by making it harder for states to remove citizens from federal election voter lists. States must now verify ineligibility using objective and reliable evidence before removal. Citizens will not be removed simply for failing to vote or failing to respond to certain routine notices.
Key points
States can only remove you from the voter list if they have objective proof you are ineligible (e.g., confirmed move outside the jurisdiction).
Failing to vote in past elections or not responding to standard notices are not valid reasons for removal.
If removed, the state must notify you within 48 hours, explaining the reason and how to contest the decision or be reinstated.
