Transfer of Functions Regarding Anadromous and Catadromous Species to the Department of the Interior

This bill transfers functions under the Endangered Species Act regarding anadromous and catadromous species from the Secretary of Commerce (or the National Marine Fisheries Service) to the Secretary of the Interior. This change applies to fish that spawn in fresh waters and migrate to the ocean, and those that spawn in the ocean and migrate to fresh waters. All existing orders, permits, and pending proceedings remain in effect until modified by the appropriate authorities.
