College Transparency: Detailed Graduation Times for Students.

This act mandates that colleges provide much more detailed data on how long it takes students to complete their degrees. Instead of a single graduation rate, institutions must report completion percentages based on normal time, 150%, 200%, and 300% of that time, broken down by student type. This enhanced transparency allows prospective students and families to better assess the true time commitment and financial risk of a program before enrolling.
Key points
Colleges must publish detailed completion rates segmented by student status (first-time, transfer, full-time, part-time).
Data will show the percentage of students finishing within normal time, 150%, 200%, and up to 300% of the standard program duration.
The goal is to provide consumers with comprehensive information for making informed enrollment and financial planning decisions.
