Individuals previously separated due to refusal must be reinstated, receive back pay, and have their discharge characterized as honorable.
Key points
Federal funds cannot be used to enforce current or future COVID-19 vaccine mandates for active military personnel or service academy students.
Individuals previously discharged solely for vaccine refusal must be reinstated with back pay and their original rank or credits.
All discharges related to COVID-19 vaccine refusal must be characterized as 'honorable discharge,' and negative records must be expunged.
