Ko’ko’ Bird Stamp: Funding Wildlife Conservation and Snake Eradication on Guam

This law mandates the U.S. Postal Service to issue a special semipostal stamp, which citizens can voluntarily purchase. The extra revenue generated from the stamp's sale will be dedicated entirely to wildlife conservation efforts on Guam, specifically funding native bird breeding programs and the eradication of the invasive brown tree snake. This provides a direct, voluntary way for citizens to support biodiversity for at least four years.
Key points
Creation of a special, optional Ko’ko’ Bird semipostal stamp available for purchase by the public.
Proceeds from the stamp sales are directed to Guam's Department of Agriculture for wildlife conservation and brown tree snake eradication.
The stamp must be available for sale for a minimum period of four years, starting within 12 months of the law's enactment.
