Eliminating Copays for Preventive Care in Chronic Conditions

This bill requires group health plans and health insurance issuers to provide coverage for additional preventive care and screenings for individuals with chronic conditions without imposing cost-sharing requirements. The legislation mandates coverage for conditions defined by the Secretary, which must include at a minimum heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, asthma, liver disease, bleeding disorders, and depression. Qualifying services must be low-cost and supported by medical evidence showing they prevent condition exacerbation or secondary conditions.
