Expanding VA Medical Care Access for Veterans Living Abroad.

This bill eliminates the requirement that veterans living outside the United States must have a service-connected disability to receive VA-funded medical care. This expansion allows veterans abroad to seek reimbursement for a wider range of medical conditions, significantly improving their benefits. Furthermore, the VA must implement electronic fund transfers (EFT) to ensure faster and easier reimbursement for veterans' medical expenses.
Key points
Veterans residing outside the U.S. can now receive VA medical care for any condition, removing the service-connected disability restriction for foreign care.
The VA must update its payment system to allow for electronic fund transfers, speeding up reimbursement for medical costs incurred abroad.
The VA will assess creating a network of non-Department foreign medical providers to simplify access to care for eligible veterans.
