AI Resources for Small Businesses: Standards and Best Practices for Adoption.

This Act requires the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to develop and distribute free resources to help small businesses safely and effectively adopt Artificial Intelligence. While aimed at companies, citizens benefit indirectly through improved services, greater efficiency, and increased competitiveness among local small businesses. The resources, which include technical standards and best practices, are entirely voluntary for businesses to use.
Key points
The government will create free guidelines and tools (e.g., technical standards, case studies) to help small businesses understand and implement AI.
These resources must be technology-neutral, promote safe and proper AI use, and be distributed in coordination with the Small Business Administration (SBA).
The goal is to boost the competitiveness of small enterprises, potentially leading to better quality services and products for consumers.
