Active Shooter Alert Act: National Network for Faster Public Safety Warnings.
This Act establishes a national Active Shooter Alert Communications Network coordinated by the Department of Justice. Its purpose is to ensure rapid, coordinated warnings for residents and travelers during active shooter events, while also developing protocols to prevent alerts from revealing the location of people sheltering nearby. States and local governments are encouraged to voluntarily adopt these standardized best practices to improve emergency response nationwide.
