Easier Border Entry for Dogs from Low-Risk Rabies Countries.

This law simplifies the process for bringing dogs into the United States by removing the requirement for rabies vaccination documentation and a specific CDC import form. This change applies only to dogs arriving from countries not designated as high-risk for dog-maintained rabies. Citizens traveling with their pets from safe regions will face fewer bureaucratic hurdles at the border.
Key points
Eliminates the need for rabies vaccination proof and the CDC dog import form for entry into the U.S.
The simplification applies only if the dog has not been in a high-risk rabies country for a specified period (180 days for dogs over 6 months old).
The importer must verbally or in writing confirm that the dog meets the non-high-risk requirements.
