Three-Year Limit on Government Recovery of Social Security Overpayments.

This bill establishes a three-year time limit for the government to recover overpayments of Social Security (Title II) and SSI (Title XVI) benefits, provided the error was made by the Social Security Administration (SSA). This change protects recipients from unexpected financial demands years after an administrative mistake occurred. The limit does not apply if the recipient committed fraud.
