Banning COVID Vaccine Status Discrimination in Organ Transplants and Federal Healthcare Access.

This bill ensures that an individual's COVID-19 vaccination status cannot be used to deny access to life-saving organ transplants or affect their priority on the waiting list. Furthermore, healthcare providers who deny services based on vaccination status (excluding long-term care facilities) will lose federal funding through Medicare and Medicaid programs. This guarantees equal access to critical medical care for all citizens, regardless of their vaccination status.
Key points
COVID-19 vaccination status cannot be a factor in determining eligibility or priority for organ donation or transplantation.
Healthcare providers denying services based on vaccination status (outside of long-term care) will be ineligible for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
Regional COVID-19 infection rates cannot be used to determine eligibility for organ donation or receipt.
