Restoring Land Control to Alaska Native Village Corporations.

This law changes requirements for Alaska Native Village Corporations regarding land transfers. It eliminates the mandatory conveyance of land in trust to the State for the future establishment of Municipal Corporations. If land was already transferred but the municipality hasn't been formed, the Village Corporation can reclaim the title, increasing local control over their resources and autonomy.
Key points
Village Corporations are no longer required to transfer additional land to the State for future municipal establishment.
Land previously transferred in trust, where no municipality exists, can revert back to the Village Corporation upon formal request.
The reversion of land must respect existing rights, such as leases and public access easements.
