Workers in this sector can expect better support, training opportunities, and increased awareness of their rights and available benefits.
Key points
Establishment of the Office of the Farm and Food System Workforce within the USDA to increase workers' access to departmental programs and services.
Creation of an Advisory Committee, including workers, unions, and non-profit organizations, to advise on safety, training, and integrating worker perspectives into USDA programs.
Formation of an Interagency Council to coordinate planning and policymaking among various federal agencies (including Labor, Health, and Housing) concerning farm and food system workers.
