Training Time Flexibility: When Employers Don't Pay for Worker Education.

This bill changes federal wage law regarding compensation for time spent in training or educational programs. If an employee attends training voluntarily, outside regular work hours, and performs no productive work, the employer is no longer required to pay wages for that time. This aims to encourage employers to offer more training but requires workers to dedicate personal time without compensation.
Key points
Time spent on voluntary training outside regular work hours will be excluded from compensable "hours worked."
Participation must be strictly voluntary, and non-attendance cannot negatively affect employment or working conditions.
The change applies to lectures, education, or training programs, provided the employee performs no productive work during the activity.
